My role was to work closely with the Global business manager to ensure their business venture had the best infrastructure needed to deliver the high standard that Charles Schwab is known for.

I finalized their US to Japan infrastructure, set up their application infrastructure for their Chinese Language offering this involved a complex systems integration of as well as integration with standard infrastructure projects.

I was also heavily involved in their international infrastructure security and instrumental in improving the relationship between the infrastructure team and their customers by spearheading various communication and planning initiatives.

A successful project manager for the nationwide network infrastructure audit. I was promoted to project manager of the Kaiser Permanente PC/Client Server Y2K remediation. Within a short space of time we had restructured the project, redesigned the processes, and re-staffed to ensure effective use of resources, this quick turn around enabled us to capture further business. I continue to lead the project until May when I was again promoted to overall Program Manager.

I was then promoted to a project manager managing a $16.9M systems integration effort. By teaming strong technical teams with hand picked senior managers they succeeded in there objectives of delivering high quality software in budget at each milestone. We used C++ and JAVA for the front end client, C++ & COBRA for the middleware and porting existing Sybase code to Oracle 8, on an AIX platform.

As lead IT Security Office I was involved in all security aspects of networking, and software development security.

I successfully led the implemented of their first security-auditing plan. Concurrently I redesigned the Workstation/Server configuration for Eurostat's secure environment using Windows NT for both workstations and authentication server, and Solaris as the main application server offering. This was then scaled up to include all access to the secure environment.

Operational responsibilities involved secure access (Firewalls and secure tokens), managing security patches and backups, anti-virus tools, Internet access, and cryptographic software. Developing and monitoring the network security and intrusion detection system.

I was involved on a daily basis with technical teams throughout Eurostat, ensure security policies and procedures were embedded into all aspects of the development cycle and on going operations.

Initially the role there was to lead the implementation of New International Customers and to develop the EMEA (Europe Middle-east and Africa) wide 7x24 helpdesk for IBM's Global Network offering. Once those projects were in place my main role was implementing special projects such as Global Frame Relay service, EMEA wide Lotus Notes, and Internet Content Hosting, ML 1/2, an SNA tool for viewing customer global networks.

Whilst working in Zoetermeer I was responsible for a number of large international customers: RINET, a worldwide group of insurers and re-insurers.The Dutch securities exchange (NECICOM) .Timberland & Johnson & Johnson.

Internally for IBM I arranged the RFPs, and wrote the initial procedures for New International Customer Environment.

I was involved in supporting a wide variety of I.T. They run 31 Novell networks 2.15 - 4.0, along with about 30 UNIX boxes running a variety of UNIX platforms (mainly ICL, but also AIX, HP-UX, and Bull). These are, in the main, all connected over SPX/IPX, TCP/IP, and X.25. As well as improving my skills in connectivity and security in both UNIX and Novell, I improved my experience with WAN intercommunication between various services and the security aspects of large-scale networking.

During this time I was also a contract developer for Chapman Hall and developed a number of packages for them in C++ using ZINC a platform independent GUI library.

As the College IT coordinator, this involved developing and delivering a company wide strategy for I.T. training to both staff and students. This involved development and delivery schedules,I.T. access and purchasing policies across a range of conflicting sectors agreed.

Before I finished he set up their first collegewide I.T. resource center. This involved RFPs, design of the layout, purchasing of equipment and software, designing, installing security and maintenance of Novell and UNIX networks.

I also took the lead in the design and delivery of I.T. courses such as C++, C, UNIX administration and various business packages to industry. This involved looking at a variety of features such as: the method of delivery, the relevance of the material, and the costing structures. Which enabled me to use and strengthened my business and marketing skills, understanding the needs of other companies whilst ensuring the business unit's profitability.

Interests
Actively involved in community building activities. this includes civic activities include eagle scout projects and friends of the library. When I am not helping clients build solutions my current passion and love is EarthBoxes and bee keeping
