Coordinator for the Stroke awareness program
Marlborough Hospital
2/2010-9/2010
Stroke is the leading cause of disability in the US. and I coordinate presentations on the signs and symptoms of Stroke in the City of Marlborough. I meet with businesses, community and faith groups spreading the word about Stroke and the preventative measures we can take to minimize risk.
The main thrust of the program is to get treatment urgently for a fuller recovery. A rest or a cup of tea will not help! You may be eligible for the latest clot busting treatment if you know the time when you were last "well" and get to a hospital immediately. It's information worth knowing!
A lifetime of disability is the risk we run by not acting on the signs and symptoms and getting help in a hurry.
